1. Introduction
Wav Linq (“Wav Linq,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website, applications, API, and related services (the “Services”). By using the Services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide.
- Account data: When you sign up or log in, we collect email address, password (stored in hashed form), and optionally phone number or other identifiers you provide. If you use phone-based sign-up or login, we collect your phone number and use it to send you SMS (e.g., one-time verification codes).
- Profile and usage: Name, profile details, and preferences you set in your account.
- Content you upload: Audio files and metadata (e.g., signatures, attribution data) you submit for watermarking or extraction. We process and store this to provide the Services.
- Communications: Messages you send to us (e.g., support or contact forms).
Information we collect automatically.
- Usage and device: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and general usage patterns when you use our website or app.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and analyze how the Services are used (see Section 5).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services (e.g., embedding and extracting watermarks, storing files, managing attributions).
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- Process payments and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Send you service-related notices (e.g., security or policy updates) and, with your consent where required, marketing communications—including via email and SMS (e.g., one-time codes for verification, account security, and transactional messages).
- Understand usage and improve our products (e.g., analytics and product development).
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in these circumstances:
- Service providers: With vendors that help us run the Services (e.g., hosting, database, analytics, email). We use Twilio (or similar SMS/communications providers) to send SMS messages (e.g., verification codes); your phone number and message delivery data are shared with them to provide that service. They are contractually required to use the information only to provide services to us and to protect it appropriately.
- Analytics: We use Microsoft Clarity and similar tools to analyze site usage. Clarity may collect session recordings and usage data; see Microsoft’s privacy policy for details.
- Legal and safety: When required by law, court order, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, sale of assets, or acquisition, subject to the same privacy commitments.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential operation: Sign-in state, security, and basic site function.
- Preferences: Remembering your settings.
- Analytics: Understanding how visitors use our site (e.g., Microsoft Clarity).
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may limit some features of the Services.
6. SMS Communications
When you provide your phone number, you consent to receive SMS from us (e.g., one-time verification codes, account security messages, and other service-related messages). We send SMS through Twilio or similar providers. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of marketing SMS at any time by replying STOP or contacting us; reply HELP for more information. You may still receive transactional SMS (e.g., verification codes) while you use features that require them.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. We may retain some data after account closure for legal, security, or operational reasons (e.g., backups, dispute resolution). Audio and content you upload may be retained according to our product and storage policies until you delete it or close your account, subject to applicable law.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and operational requirements.
- Opt-out: Opt out of marketing emails via the link in those emails or your account settings.
- Data portability: Request a portable copy of your data where applicable.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
10. Children
The Services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Laws in those countries may differ from those in your residence. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in those locations.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated via email or in-product notice. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
